Moctezumas’ humble beginnings began in a hole-in-the wall establishment on South Tacoma Way in 1978 by Arturo Garcia. Arturo came to America driven for success and found his passion by sharing his culture through his love for cooking. Slowly Moctezuma’s began to be well recognized and in 1988 Moctezuma’s moved to our present location in Tacoma. This move was made possible due to our loyal customers who are still with us today.

Arturo’s extensive menu is bound to satisfy anyone and is continually introducing new authentic dishes as people are becoming more familiar with the Mexican cuisine. His determination to share his native flavors keeps him motivated to work hard to make Moctezuma’s a fun place to work for his staff and a destination for people to have a positive dining experience. Despite his growth, his goal remains the same, to serve high-quality, home-style Mexican dishes at affordable prices for EVERYONE to enjoy.
